Known as Shevanti in India, chrysanthemums are a familiar presence during Diwali, bringing warmth and colour to homes, garlands, and vibrant floral rangolis. Their quiet beauty often goes unnoticed in everyday life, yet they possess a timeless charm that continues to inspire me to paint them. This painting was created in oils using the alla prima technique, completed in a single sitting to preserve the freshness, spontaneity, and luminous quality of the flower.
