Painted from direct observation, this study captures a flowering branch in its natural form. With loose, expressive brushstrokes and a simple composition, the artist allows the flowers to speak for themselves. Executed in oils using an alla prima (wet-into-wet) approach, the painting preserves the freshness of the moment, capturing the fleeting effects of light, colour, and atmosphere in a single sitting.
