When I saw the image of this girl from Ladakh, in an instant I decided to paint her. The beauty of this girl with sun burned freckles is beyond words. Along with that the beautiful stone studded jewellery and floral head gear enhanced her beauty even more. The colourful attire of this cold desert amused me, as the bright primary colours add so much contrast to the monochromatic landscape of this region. I was tempted to dip my brush in primary colours and play with them. I wanted to capture all these things in my painting along with this girl’s innocent black brown eyes and subtle smile.
