Rishika Sahgal

Kanpur

"My practice unfolds through textured abstraction, where landscape becomes a vessel for memory, rupture, and resilience. Each painting offers an open space, one that resists fixed meaning and instead allows viewers to encounter their own memories, emotions, and interpretations within it "

"Rishika Sahgal is a contemporary abstract mixed-media artist whose work explores memory, emotion and lived experiences. Her practice is influenced by her early exposure to art and by experiences of nature and its changing landscapes. The floods in Uttarakhand in 2013 became an important influence on her artistic vocabulary and continue to inform her work. She works with textured surfaces, fractured forms and layered materials to explore ideas of destruction, resilience and renewal. "
