"I create to express my amusement at the things that fascinate me, especially the human mind and its mechanisms, and the feeling that I am but a minuscule part of this wondrous world. Each artwork is a new experience for me. Through my work, I wish to create a space for the viewer to glimpse, to form their own ideas and stories, and to connect the work with their own experiences. I hope to pass on the beauty of what I have seen, for them to feel."

 

"Priti Desai is an abstract mixed media artist from Pune. She is trained in Applied Art and has done her Advanced Graphics Design Certification from CDAC Pune in 2002. Priti did her foundational education in art from Ahmednagar, where she got an opportunity to train under eminent artist Pramod Kamble. Freelancing as a designer since 2003, she has worked with a diverse clientele such as Women Entrepreneurs, Restaurants, Software Companies, Doctors, and Spiritual groups like Ananda Sangha. She has illustrated for a few brands and personal projects. Priti would take up illustration assignments to enjoy the free flow in fine art, which has always been her calling. "

Education & Career

A Commercial Arts graduate from Chitraleela Niketan Kala Mahavidyalaya with advanced training in graphic design from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, the artist has been working as a freelance graphic designer since 2004 alongside an evolving contemporary art practice.

   

Recognition & Awards

Priti has participated in multiple group exhibitions and workshops, is currently mentored by senior artist Dr. Sudhakar Chavhan, and received Gold Medals in Illustration and Graphics and a Silver Medal in Photography during her academic years.
