Prashant Prabhu's experiments over past 25 years has given him a minimalist visual language which helps in expressing 'landscape' that is distinct from the run-of-the-mill stuff normally dished out. Memories and imaginations create scapes of land that are not just records of places and structures.

Education & Career

Prashant is a self taught artist. He has been practicing full time in watercolours for more than 2 decades. He has his own visual language which he calls ‘minimalist realism’ as he walks a fine line between minimalist abstraction on one side and realism of landscape on the other. His dreamy mystical views are based on his experiences from travels all around, yet seldom traditional ‘on locale’ works.

Recognition & Awards

He has done solo shows in prestigious public galleries like Jehangir art gallery in Mumbai (5 times) and at Lalit Kala Akademi in Delhi 2017. Apart from his 20 solo shows, his participations include Contemporary watercolour exhibitions of RWS, London ( 2016, 17) and International Watercolour Biennial In Taiwan last year.
